WHAT WE DO

CULINARY ARTS: A KEY

VOCFINU’s aim is EMPOWERMENT by providing gainful employment and marketable job skills to single teenage mothers impacted by extreme poverty. This is the “CULINARY ARTS” module that lays out a clear career path trajectory. While acquiring real-world experience and training an emphasis is placed on creating self-sufficiency and sustainability.

OUR PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER “ALICE LAMUNU”

I am committed to the belief that poverty would end and we would all be in a much better place if half the human race (women) were empowered to prosper.

Alice was born and raised in the Acholi tribe of Northern Uganda. She relocated to the United States in 1996 and has been an American citizen since. Alice has experience living with poverty in Uganda , she started funding educational scholarships for underprivileged children in her home town of Gulu in 2010. She is a business owner having worked in the child-care industry since 2004. Her career has enabled her to provide educational scholarships to 250 vulnerable girls living in extreme poverty in Northern Uganda to boarding schools.
